The installation process is where everything comes together and your new kitchen or bathroom is about to become a reality. Depending on the size and scope of your remodel, the project can take several days or several weeks. Before actual work can begin, however, you need to make preparations and arrangements for living without a kitchen or bathroom. Determine what you will do about meals, your children, and pets, and make alternative arrangements as needed. Please note that Triangle Showrooms personnel and work crews (no third parties) will be handling the installation process. They will come and go as |
needed, and will likely talk with you from time to time. Please be available, respect their safety concerns and need to move about, but do not interfere with their work. The typical sequence of events is as follows:
• Create a storage/staging area close to the kitchen. This could be an adjacent room, such as a dining room. Remove furniture, wall decorations, and other items for a clutter-free space.
• Empty all kitchen cabinets, drawers, storage units, and items attached to the walls.
• Remove small appliances and other portable items.
• Expect noise and dust. Carpenters, electricians, and plumbers will be on-site for a few days to remove old cabinetry and materials and disconnect mechanical elements. Use dust covers to protect home furnishings.
• If you plan to salvage removed items, let our work crews know.• Expect more noise and dust as well as brief disruptions of water and electrical service.
Depending on what needs to be done, this phase of the project will likely take longer than the tear-out. If structural modifications are being made, allow additional time for potential building code inspections.
• Please avoid handling any materials, equipment, or tools that work crews might leave overnight
• This phase of the project is the actual installation of cabinets, countertops, hardware, fixtures, etc.
Installation requires lots of movement, lifting, measuring, and careful handling. Light tools, solvents, finishes, trim, and cleaning materials will be used.
• Be especially mindful that work crews do their best work in a distraction-free environment.
• Work crews will make sure things work properly and then clean the area and remove equipment and materials prior to final inspection.
